A new set of draft pages for the revised and updated bibliography: Стихотворения: 1929-1951 [Stikhotvoreniia: 1929–1951 / Poems: 1929–1951], Nabokov’s handy little booklet of 15 poems in Russian, published in Paris by Rifma in 1952. It is A27 in the 1986 bibliography.

New draft pages: Nikolai Gogol, Nabokov’s study of the Russian author, first published by New Directions in 1944. It is A22 in the 1986 bibliography.

New draft pages: Дар [Dar / The Gift], Nabokov’s last novel in Russian. Begun in Berlin in 1933, Dar was not completed until 1938. Four of the five chapters appeared in Sovemmenye Zapiski in 1937-38. The complete novel didn’t appear until its first book incarnation in New York in 1952. The English translation was published in 1963. It is A17 in the 1986 bibliography.

New draft pages: Vladimir and Dmitri Nabokov’s translation, with notes and foreword, of the Lermontov novel, A Hero of Our Time. The translation was first published in 1958 in wrappers by Doubleday Anchor Books. It is A31 in the 1986 bibliography.

New draft pages: Carrousel, published in 1987 by Spectatorpers, a private press in the Netherlands. It is a collection of two essays and a poem in English that had originally been written by Nabokov in 1923. It is A57 in the 1991 update to my bibliography.

New draft pages: Nabokov’s play, The Waltz Invention, published in 1966 by Phaedra. It was written originally in Russian as Изобретение Вальса [Izobretanie Val’sa] in 1938 and appeared in a thick Russian literary journal also in 1938. That is why it appeared as A19 in the 1986 bibliography.

New draft pages: Nabokov’s translations of Russian poems, Three Russian Poets: Selections from Pushkin, Lermontov and Tyutchev, published in 1945 by New Directions. It is A23 in the 1986 bibliography.

Notice that the British edition in 1947 had more than just a different title. It also had three more translations of Pushkin and seven of Lermontov than the American edition had.
